WESLANDIA honors the misfits--and the creators--among us.Enter the witty, intriguing world of Weslandia Now that school isover, Wesley needs a summer project. He's learned that eachcivilization needs a staple food crop, so he decides to sow agarden and start his own - civilization, that is. He turns over aplot of earth, and plants begin to grow. They soon tower above himand bear a curious-looking fruit. As Wesley experiments, he findsthat the plant will provide food, clothing, shelter, and evenrecreation. It isn't long before his neighbors and classmatesdevelop more than an idle curiosity about Wesley - and exactly howhe is spending his summer vacation.

子川喜欢这本书，我想吸引他的，一是很炫的画面，二是很酷的Wesley，能有自己的王国（每个孩子的梦想）。而一些深层的东西，我想他应该还不 能体会到。我喜欢这本书，是它给我很好的启示，如果人生不随大流，始终保持住自己的节奏，也许会有意想不到的效果。

楼下有同学提到“自我认同”，Weslandia不是简单的“自我认同”主题，奇思异想的科幻色彩非常浓重，也是最吸引眼球之处。他的另一本科幻绘本Time Train，获得了1992年美国最佳儿童科幻绘本奖（GOLDEN DUCK AWARDS).
