Hilary Knight, son of artist-writers Clayton Knight and KatharineSturges, was educated at the Art Students League, where he studiedwith Reginald Marsh. Besides the Eloise books, Hilary Knight hasillustrated more than fifty books for children, six of which hewrote himself.
