The Magic School Bus was a series of children'sbooksintended to teach scientific concepts to children. Theywerewritten between 1986 and 2001 by Joanna Cole and illustratedbyBruce Degan. The books feature the exploits of Ms. Frizzle andherclass of students at Walkerville Elementary School who boardamagical school bus which takes them on educational adventurestospace, under the Earth, into the human body, or to othersuchlocations. The books were written in the first person fromthepoint of view of an unnamed student in the Friz's class.

Synopsis:
Once again, Ms. Frizzle gets her class right in the "thick"ofthings--this time, they're right in the thick ooze of anunderwatervolcano's magma chamber! As Arnold and Carlos watch froma raftabove, the Magic School Bus "erupts" with the magma and lava,andlands atop a brand-new island! Full color.
