PreS-K-Every night, a little girl chants the prayer "Angels, Angels, all around/Angels, Angels, come surround./Hold my hand throughout the night/Guide me from the dark to light." Then one evening, a beautiful angel with snowy white wings visits and asks her what she would do if she had wings. The child imagines making a "necklace out of stars," playing with the "fluffy cloud animals," and sliding down a rainbow. She awakes to find a white feather, as soft as velvet, in her bed. The textured illustrations in heavenly blues are predictably pretty. They feature angels of different races and fanciful blue borders that surround the saccharine text.
