Little Wen wants to be a mother taking care of a real baby. Mama advises her to get a pet first. Little Wen’s uncle gives her two chicks – a rebellious male chick and an obedient female chick. Little Wen plays a “loving mother” to the female chick – only to learn that too much love can sometimes be a harmful thing. Her little female chick dies. To help cheer her up, her neighbours suggest holding a funeral party for her chick.
